Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Big dank chocolate aroma. Big chocolate imperial stout. light heat on the finish. some toffee fudge flavour pretty decent imperial stout. some espresso coffee flavour too. yes i liked it. lots of flavours I like. bit fizzy. Good.

Expired last month. Another one of those cellar dwellers that needed to go. No source label, so it’s been dwelling (“aging”) for a long time. Aroma of plum juice and roasted chocolate. Dark brown with a beige, frothy head that lingers the duration. Taste is moderate bitter with a pleasant, juicy plum sweetness at the back. Solid, but otherwise, not a lot going on. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Not bad.

750ml bottle that pours a dark brown colour with some copper highlights. The head is frothy, creamy-like, light warm-beige coloured with good stay and full foamy lacing. I am getting some wheat sweetness with the banana notes in the nose. Eventually, it slightly calms down showing a big of the roasted malts and warming alcohol. The taste shows more the burnt barley with some dark fruits hints. The hops are a little more present to cut the sweet aspect, and some decent bitterness and dryness comes out in the finish. Still, a little too rich for my likings.

Chocolate cake and fudge are the characteristics of a moderately roasted and slightly fruity olfactory with fruity notes of prunes. Huge two-tone creamy foam that lasts for several minutes. Black but translucent liquid with red reflections. The first flavors are chocolate on a texture and a slimmer body than normal for this style. The primary roasting flavors are sweet but reveal a little more in the final. The balance of black fruits and alcohol is interesting. A good roasting bitterness lasts a few seconds at the end. The flavour complexity is a little thin like his body. I find it correct and without much artifice. Gâteau au chocolat et fudge sont les caractéristiques d’un olfactif moyennement torréfié et légèrement fruité aux pruneaux. Énorme mousse bicolore et bien crémeuse qui se maintient plusieurs minutes. Noire mais translucide aux reflets roux. Les premières saveurs sont chocolatées sur une texture et un corps plus mince que la normale pour ce style. Les saveurs primaires de torréfaction sont douces mais se révèlent un peu plus en finale. L’équilibre fruits noirs et alcool est intéressant. Une bonne amertume de torréfaction se prolonge quelques secondes en fin de bouche. La complexité des saveurs s’avère un peu mince à l’instar de son corps. Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be. Pours pitch black with a huge thick foamy beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee and a little chocolate. Taste is the same again with some added dark fruit tones with hints of liquorice and brown sugar. A nice long roasty bitter finish. Full body with a silky smooth creamy mouthfeel. Very nice flavourful Stout.

Color marrón oscuro con buena formación de espuma cremosa de color tostado claro, retención media. Aroma con notas a ciruelas y pasas maduras con notas licorosas. Sabor con notas torrefactas, presencia de alcohol al inicio, notas a madera, frutos rojos maduros y algo de caramelo conforme la cerveza tiama temperatura. Final suave, ligeramente dulce, acaramelado. Leve densidad en boca.
