Troubadour Imperial Stout is a real Imperial Stout, but with a Belgian twist. The beer is almost black and has a solid crème coloured head. It is a powerful beer with strong roasted fragrances. You can taste notes of chocolate, toffee and coffee, followed by a bitter aftertaste.

Zwart bier met mooie bruine schuimkraag. Smaak is krachtig, bitter rookachtig, licht zoet, chocolade, mokka en koffie met iets van drop en pruimen. Erg goed bier, mooi in balans.

Flaska från Saveur Bieré. Smak och doft av rostad malt, karamell, mörk choklad, kaffe, lakrits med toner av läder, mörk torkad frukt, honung och aska. Fruktig, fina smaker i god balans, lagom sötma, fin beska. Gott!

Bottle at Doerak. Near black, hazy dark brown. Light tan head. Roasted malt, sour grains. Nutty, coffee, toffee, caramel. Over medium sweet, light bitterness, light sourness (probably unintended). Under medium body. Light carbonation.

Bottle at The Arcade Tavern, Ipswich. Poured a very dark brown colour with a tan colour head. Aroma of roasted chocolate, malt and dried fruits. Light sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Soft carbonation. Unexpected thinness to texture. This one lacked the ’wow’ I normally associate with this style.

0.33l bottle. Rubyish dark brown body, huge light beige head. Aroma of chocolate, sour cherry, caramel and cocoa. Taste of chocolate, sour cherry, nutmeg, floral hops and caramel. Not a typical imperial stout, but I like it.
