Troubadour Imperial Stout is a real Imperial Stout, but with a Belgian twist. The beer is almost black and has a solid crème coloured head. It is a powerful beer with strong roasted fragrances. You can taste notes of chocolate, toffee and coffee, followed by a bitter aftertaste.

Aroma is rather neat with belgian yeast and sweet licorice tones. Flavour has licorice, fruity yeast and spicy notes. A bit too foamy palate. A stout with nice Belgian twist, reminds me of Malheur Dark Brut.

Opaque black, large frothy tan head, receding slowly, good lacing. Aroma roasted dark malts, caramel, brown sugar, cocoa, dried dark fruit, light liquorice. Taste light heavy to medium sweet and medium bitter, roast, dark chocolate. Full body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate, malty, dried dark fruits, alcohol well-hidden. Very pleasant strong stout, only miss a certain touch.

Tap takeover at Christian Firtal. Near black with a lasting off-white head. Roasted malty aroma with yeasty notes and some apple peel. Sweetish malty flavour with chocolate, caramel and fruit.

A very dark brown beer with a big and beige head. Aroma has coffee, roastiness, herbs, some dark chocolate and milky sourness. Tate has liqurice and coffee, some fruits, dry roastiness in the end. Only medium bodied, medium carbonation. Stronger body would be needed. Not so good as I expected. Coffee and roasted.

Tap at Popeye’s showing dark caramel brown, with big wide red rust colored rims. Very little color and quite clear. No head. The nose shows a lot of belgian style sweetness along with sweetness from the malts. The palate is is very light bodied for a stout with very light carbonation. Hints of roasted malts but mostly clean malty sweetness all around. Bitterness on the finish comes mostly from the hops. In general, it tastes like a very light stout that was fermented with belgian yeasts in a style closer to a dubbel.

Nose is malt, slight smoke, licorice, slight dark fruit. Taste is yeast, some soft fruits leading, smoke, toffee, a little chocolate, a little resin in the oddly bitter finish. Very thin for an imperial stout It has a funny taste profile for an imperial stout and is very forgettable.
