Bottle at Nuet Brussels. Black beer collar tan bubbles. It?s a gusher. Some landed on the floor. Big choc aroma way too carbonated so had to decant to another glass. Still lots of chocolate. Mid dark chocolate. Some bitterness on finish. Quite a dry beer. Not sweet at all. Tasty mid dark chocolate porter with a dry bitter finish. Decent. A little praline nuttiness

Bottle at home, Black beer with a huge head, very fizzy, Aroma is malts, chocolate, coffee. Taste is chocolate, coffee, liquorice, malts, Not bad beer, dont drink it too cold or else it will taste horrible ...

Bottled from Bier Genot, BB Oct 2017, large sample, served in a snifter. Pours a dark brown colored beer with a meduim almost creamy brown head leaving thick creamy lacing. Aroma of quites some coffee (although there seems to be no coffee in), some roast, bit licorice, slight spicy, some caramel, biscuit. Quite bitter in taste, some from the hops, but mainly from the malts, coffee again, hint of cookie sweetness. Slight creamy texture. Finishes with a bit of the candy sweetness that can be found in belgian styled beers. Slight dry palate, together with grassy bitterness. After a couple of their mediocre brews, I wasnt expecting a lot from this White Pony, but this one is truly wonderful. Horrible labels btw.

Bottle shared. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma of big roast, coffee, overripe dark fruits, raisins, caramel and booze. Flavour is over moderate sweet and bitter. Light full bodied with light carbonation.

[33 cl. bottle][15 cl. sample][Split with Kogymo][White Pony Day @ ‘t Antwaerps Bierhuiske] Very young sample +/- 1 week old, I was warned. I am always a bit confused when a brewery brings a beer to a festival and warns me about it prior to drinking, it is young, over carbonated etc. I understand that they are covering their backs but it still seems a bit odd to me, if you are not sure of a beer just don’t serve it to me. I have never been handed food in a restaurant accompanied by a warning like, I am not sure if the bread was long enough in the oven. It seems to me if it tastes great, I won’t start nitpicking about the colour etc. Anyway pours oily black with unsurprisingly little in the way of head. Smells of cacao, chocolate syrup, hazelnuts, it is quite grainy and lacking a definite characteristic or subtlety. Tastes of roasted malts, it is a bit watery, sweetish, oily with hazelnuts, sweetish, syrup, very simple and a bit watery and week, lacking many characteristics maybe indeed simply to young. I was told that this is their best beer & that it was bound to impress.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As White Pony Zumbi ].Clear dark dark black color with a large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, burnt malt, coffee, dark roasted. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, strong coffee, malt bitter, late finish has also chocolate and dark chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Quit powerfull and long after taste but it fade away quit nice with a very nice chocolatety aftertaste and balance flavor ... [20140226]

Opaque dark brown beer, good mid tan head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. Semi dry. Rich and smooth dark malts with light touches of roast and earthy coffee. Little coffee bitterness. Dark malt cream. Smooth finish with a touch of dark fruits. A rich and robust porter.
