Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very dark brown almost black colour with a medium sized creamy beige head and lots of sediment in the glass. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, toffee and chocolate. Taste has lots more of the dry dark fruits, more caramel, some brown bread, a little syrup, brown sugar and a hint of liquorice. A little sweet but fairly well balanced. Medium body, fairly low carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol well hidden. Good strong dark beer.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Opaque dark brown, small foamy beige head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma light roasted malts, caramel, liquorice, anis seed, alcohol notes. Medicinal hints. Taste light light heavy sweet, slightly bitter, roasted malts, liquorice, spicy notes, vinous touch, candy sugar, alcohol. Full-bodied, oily texture, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation, malty sweetbitter aftertaste, warming alcohol, sugary notes, nice.

330ml bottle bought from Beers of Europe and drunk at home. Dark brown, only slightly translucent with a large beige/khaki head. Sweet spice in the aroma, with honey and a little bit of molasses. It's certainly sweet at first but there is a herbal hoppy bitterness that gives it complexity. More sweet honey and notes of plum in the aftertaste. Body is thin for the ABV, with heavy carbonation. Decent but oerhaps a bit too subtle.

0.33l bottle, well before, fresh. Also, I am thirsty and this is very cold. Smell- medium-strong to strong, malt, caramel, Belgian, cake, sweetness, nice and aromatic. Foam- thin, malty, caramel, Belgian notes, sweetness, acidic tones. Head is a medium-sized, medium-dark brown color. Also, foam slowly creeps up after opening. Sticks to sides. Appearance- beer specific bottle cap and somewhat interesting label. Black or very dark brown color, no carbonation, but some sediment visible. From - snifter Taste - sweet, caramel, sugar, malt, candy, Belgian yeast, some alcohol in the mix. Very sweet, caramelly and malty alcohol is mixed nicely. Please more. Weird that people comment sourness... I don't get any of that. A nice surprise for sure.
