Bottle from Carrefour. Pours hazy dark brown-blackish with a quickly thinning, tan head; some sediment floating around. Aroma of liquorice, star aniseed, 'laces candy', candied apricot, Coca-Cola, wet herbs. Taste has sweetish liquorice, raisin, caramel, accentuated by spicy aniseed, herbal 'Cola' and a sourish touch. Malty, spicy, candy-like finish with lingering liquorice and warming 'rum Cola'-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation. I wanted to like it but it's too weirdly spicy & herbal.

Malty aroma with just a hint of smoke and cake dough. Sweet, malty somewhat smoky flavor with cake dough, marzipan and apple. Upcoming sourness, the alcohol is well hidden.

Taste: malty, moderately sweet. Lots of dry fruit, fruit esters, a hint of nail polish. Low to light bitterness. At best an average BDSA.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donker bruin bier met een volle bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige wat zurige geur. De smaak is moutig, vol, kruidig en wat zoethout achtig.

Bottle as a gift. Many thanks! Hazy brown colour. Sweet caramel and malts, light spicy. Bit too sweet and one dimensional.
