Classic and, in my opinion, somewhat underrated ’massieve ale’ since 1992, a spiced honey beer, with cream white, regular, moussy and very stable head over a very dark bronze with ruby hue. Pleasant, strongish aroma of raisins, pear, elderberries, chocolate, caramel, honey, coriander, pepper. Malty taste, chocolatey, smooth and full, candied fruits, candi sugar-like sweetness but not cloying and well balanced with drying coriander and herbal hoppiness, spiciness remains subtle enough and some warming alcohol adds complexity to the finish.

Bottle shared. Pours not exactly the "jet black masterpiece" as stated in the commercial description, more like hazy brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of malt, overripe dark fruit, gravy, herbs and caramel. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty good
