(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, ruby amber colour with a big and beige foamy head. Yeasty, bready and mildly toasted malty aroma with notes of candy, raisins and a tinge of alcohol. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, full bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Bready toast-malty taste with caramel and mildly vinous fruity notes of raisins, cassis and plums; sweet and delicately bitter finish with present fruity notes and a warming alcoholic strength. My favourite Jessenhofke so far. 21.II.13

Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a lightly hazy one, amber in color and topped by a dense, off-white to light beige head. The aroma is weak, mostly on the malty side, with toffee and some notes of bread. Lightly fruity. The flavor too is on the malty side, with toffee, some licorice notes and a little bitterness. Quite dry on the palate, soft carbonation and medium bodied. Toffee and some fruityness in the end. A decent one, quite tasteful and pleasant. 130215

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours an almost clear reddish amber with an off-white head. Lots of brown sugar and booze in the nose. Solid body, again brown sugars, dark dried fruits, subtle roast, quite some spices and a massive booziness. Certainly no Bière de Garde! 310312
