Aroma of sweet, candied, dried fruits like dates and raisins. Flavour has these elements too, quite sweet in fact but also with a woody dryness which balances it quite well. Seems like it could age well.

Dark brown with a orangy hue. Light tan head. Bubblegum, pineapple, banana. Then coffee, chocolate, toffee and brown suger. Nice spices as well. Sweet, but balanced with a hint of tart citrus and a slightly bitter finish. Medium to thin bodied, later a bit more alcohol presence. Overall a nice beer, just as good as some more celebrated ones. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Gringel Bells on 11 Sep 2015 at 14:12 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Bottle shared at ABC Beers tasting. Pours hazy brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of overripe fruit, caramel, dough. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied, thinner than expected with soft carbonation. Cork and caged 0.75 bottle, one of 1200 produced. This was the 2012 version with a best before date of 31 Oct 2014. Poured carefully into four glass on 10th Sep 2013 in Marcus’s flat, Luxembourg. Looked great, dark and interesting. The whole thing reminded me of St Bernardus Abt 12, that deep malty alcoholic feel, liquorice and chocolate notes all rolled up into one fine beer. Rich, creamy and yummy.

33cl Bottle, thanks Harmen! Deep reddish brown colour, beige head. Aroma is nice, light spicy like gingerbread, dark fruits, lots of raisins and dried currants. Flavour is more mouldy and yeasty, dried currants, burned caramel, light-bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied. Disappointing flavour imo. Earlier Rating: 11/4/2012 Total Score: 3.333cl Bottle from an EKO-shop. Clear reddish brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of plums, alcohol, dark fruits, caramel, hint of cocoa. Flavour is sweet, malty, dark fruits, plums, raisins, cocoa, strong alcohol, alcoholic bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Could do with a bit less alcohol. BdG?
