This top-fermented dark beer is brewed with roasted malts. The secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it its powerful and pleasant character. Reddish-brown with a creamy and persistent head. The nose is quite complex, powerful and full-bodied with earthy notes of old wood. First aromas are powerful (alcohol), spicy (wood) yet always well balanced, leading up to a pleasantly caramelised finish. The round mouthfeel and roasted malty flavour reinforce the aromas of coffee and toffee (molasses and caramelised butter). Its dark colour and warm strength make Waterloo Double Dark a delicious beer!

Bottle from the Kings Avenue Mall, Paphos, Cyprus. Pours red amber brown with a long lasting beige head. Aroma of toffee, molasses, prune, malt, dark fruit, touch of liquorice, yeast. Pours hazy deep amber with a small beige head. The aroma contains malts, caramel, red fruits, brown sugar and spices. It tastes medium to heavy sweet, leading to a light bitter spicy alcoholic finish that fades quickly though. Medium body, decent carbonation, oily texture.

Bottle shared by fajry. Strong, alcohol poking through. Simple caramelly and slightly chocolatey/toffeeish maltiness. Not much more, a simple beer, but not bad.

Pours a chestnut brown color, topped with a large tan colored head that goes away quickly. Nice chocolate malt aroma with some roastiness and a bit of alcohol pushing through, but still chocolate notes are dominant. Mildly roasty, some sharp bittery feel, although not strong. Alsohol pretty noticeable in the finish. A bit sweet, but too much on the alco side.
