Blonde Ale aged in used Chardonnay barrels from local Sonoma County wineries. It is aged for about 9 to 15 months (depending on the age of the barrel) with lots of brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Medium bodied with hints of oak and Chardonnay, funky brett characteristics, with a nice, long sour finish.

Pours a hazy honey yellow with full white head and lacing. Pleasant sour aroma. Sweetness and sour taste. Sour is slightly muted and blends well with subtle oak taste. Well rounded and drinkable.

Hazy amber gold beer. Dry palate. Sour but with the edges taken off by some dry woodiness. The sourness is citric and with a touch of peach. Not my favourite style but this is ok.

Draft at Falling Rock, Denver. Filtered golden-tan with a creamy white head. Harsh funky lemon sour notes under some creamy malt. Pretty nice, sort of incorporates a the funky sourness quite well into the malt base. Medium bodied, very drinkable for the ABV. Tart and refreshing. Lemon funk notes dominate. Superbly melllow, great stuff. The white wine really becomes apparent the more it’s sipped. White wine and beer hybrid.

bottle(thanks to Mlunger12) at my leaving FL throwdown(17Dec10)pours light yellow with a thin white head. Loads of bubbles very champagne looking. Aroma is floral with only thin tart lemon hints that this is a sour. Flavor is again floral with chamomile and dandelion ending with a sour finish that seems equal parts vinous and wild yeast. Very good stuff.

On tap at Russian River, pours a cloudy dull copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out big time Chardonnay barrels, light wild yeast, and some light zesty fruits. Flavour is similar and very complex, bringing out notes of citrus zest, prominent white wine barrels, and wild funky yeast notes. Awesomely complex, with a very dry, zesty, vinous palate. Classic pinnacle American sour.

Tap at the source. Clear dark yellow, edge head, great lacing. Aroma of sourdough bread. Taste is sour up front, and on the sides. Good character, dry and slightly bitter finish.
