275ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham!]. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, small, creamy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty and chocolately, minimally spicy, dark malty, minimally caramel malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, roast, some coffee, dark caramel, treacle, whiffs of liquorice, blueberry. Taste is roasty, dark malty, slightly chocolately, dark malty and slightly caramel malty, mildly bitter hoppy and slightly yeasty fruity, notes of dark chocolate, plum butter, blueberry, blue grapes, treacle, some roast, a touch of caramel sweetness.
Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation.
Classic, in the best sense old school, British (un-American), solid - very nice, jaunty sipper.

2011 vintage drank in 2025. Phenomenal condition. Rich dark malts, dark fruits, roast, semi-sweet cocoa, limited boozy notes. Full bodied with fine carb. Minimal oxidation. Quite impressive.

0,275l bottle at home during Charity Tasting. Black color, small tan head. Smells soy sauce, bitter chocolate, nutty, spices. Nice smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes soy sauce, peppery, toffee, bit smoky, oxidized, some bitter chocolate. Finishes lightly sweet with notes of soy sauce, peppery and sherry. Nice one overall, very old school
