A Märzen style lager brewed with real vanilla beans. This beer has a pronounced malty sweet base teeter tottering with a touch of floral, noble hops. The malty base goes on to perform a clown ballet with the vanilla beans resulting in a flavor reminiscent of a birthday cake. An extended lagering process makes this a light drinking session and/or dessert beer. DISCLAIMER: No clowns were harmed in the brewing of Cakeface.

473ml can. Pours a clear amber with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves thick, soapy lacing. Sweet aroma of bready pale malt, caramel, vanilla and floral hops. Sweet flavour of toasted biscuit malt, vanilla and caramel in a dry, mild bitter, grassy hop finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Gimmicky, but it does remind me of vanilla cake. Not sure I want my beer to taste like that though.

Sweet candy notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Sweet and vanilla with candy notes.

On tap at Cold Garden, pours a cloudy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma smells like sweet bready cake, with light toasted caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready malt, birthday cake and sweet caramel. Rather sweet but not cloying. Not an elegant beer.
