I appreciated this Russian imperial stout, all the aromas and enjoyement that you could expect, light and powerful, yeasty, nuts, 12.05.19, at Epalinges.

Aroma of dark malt, sweet chocolate, some roast, liquorice, hint of dark fruits, herbs, touch of Brett. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate roasty bitter finish. Not your typical Imperial Stout, a bit less intense but it has an interesting mix of flavours. I especially liked the subtle Brett touch.

Tap at Noord-Hollandse Bierfestival, Alkmaar: Very black colored brew with dry bitter taste, hints of chocolate, coffee and liquorice.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Roast and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet, roasty, alcoholic flavor with hints of ash and pear. Solid IRS.

Fles gedeelt door Roelzie1986. Het is een donkerbruin bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een gebrande drop achtige geur. De smaak is moutig, gebrand en drop achtig.

Creamy tan head left a blotchy cover on a black still body. Rich aroma of dark chocolate, caramel & dark spirits. Medium to full bodied, oily, smooth, silky & clean on the back. Roasted, nutty, liquorice, bitter berry, chocolate, raisin & boozy dark spirit tastes.

Bottled 330ml (Der Bierkoning, BB unclear 18-12-202???) Opaque colour, small beige head. Rye bready, almost kvass-like roasted aroma. Full-bodied. Licorice, burned malts, dark bread and roasted malts in the flavour. Some bitterness but not really alcoholic. Quite dry - this might be 1+ yo bottle. Just a bit rough and simple although no big problems in this one.
