Some like it hoppier. An India Pale Ale that represents the proud brewing traditions of the Pacific North West. It is a well hopped pale ale, full bodied, unfiltered and just darn tasty. While driving in a snowstorm, a rabbit chased by an owl appeared in our headlights. Because of our presence the rabbit “hopped” safely away. Later that night we tasted our freshly brewed IPA and the name of the new beer became Scared Rabbit Hoppy Pale Ale.

355ml can. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with a medium, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of bready caramel malt, orange rind, floral and light piney hops. Sweet flavour of grainy caramel malt, orange, grapefruit pith and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not terrible, but not great either.

On tap at Bow River, pours a hazy golden amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out sweet caramel, subdued resinous hops, and bready notes — get some syrupy notes underneath too. Flavour is very sweet, with toasted caramel, resinous hops, and syrupy malt. Sickly sweet and totally incompetent. Crap.

Buttery caramel notes. Clear gold with a small white head. Bitter up front, touch woody and a long finish.
