Birra is a light, sessionable farmhouse ale. It is crisp with notes of black pepper and orange and goes perfectly with food.

Draught @ CBC 2014

Pours cloudy yellow with a smooth head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, grapefruit, yeast and spices. Taste is smooth, yeasty and a bit stuffy with some floral hops, grapefruit and spices. Finish is smooth and hoppy with some earthiness and floral notes. Okay, quite sessionable saison.

12 oz. bottle, sent from deyholla (thanks a lot, Derek), pours a cloudy blonde with a large foamy white head. Nose brings out lots of barnyard funk, pepper, and lots of zest - very crisp and funky. Flavour is similar, bringing out peppery notes upfront, along with loads of funky farmhouse character and citrus zest. Exceedingly dry, rustic and funky, with amazingly high drinkability. A really excellent session saison.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with a slight white head. Aroma is lightly spicy and just a little earthy/sour. Med body or nearly. Flavor is peppery/spicy with light malt and some earthiness that could be light Brett. Very dry finish. Very tasty.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor Fort Collins. Pours a milky, dull yellow orange appearance with a white head. Very peppery, pineapple/ pear fruity, slight banana aroma. Even a bit of dankness from the hops in the nose. The flavor is a bit bready, moderately herbal bitter, white fruity flavor. A fair amount of spiciness. Definitely some pear and dull apple. One of my least favorite brews from Prairie.

12 oz bottle purchased at Royal Liquor in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a slightly hazy yellow golden with a one inch white head that falls loosely. Nice lacing left on the glass. The aroma is grain wheat malt, straw, hay, soft herbal and a faint phenolic yeast character. Fresh nose. The taste is the grain of the wheat and malt upfront, turning towards straw and herbal lemon soft bitterness and finishing with the herbal, spice phenol of the yeast. The palate is light bodied, soft active carbonation, and a dry earth softly bitter finish. Really easy drinking beer.

Bottle. Pours with a very mildly hazed yellow hued body with a fluffy white head. Great lace. Aromas are of peppery phenols, mild cardamom, grainy, toasty, lightly herbal hop character, citrusy, orange, slightly candied citrus. Floral flavors, peppery, dry, toasty, mildly tart. Nice zesty citrus, dry esters. Really tasty saison. Floral, grassy, medium hoppy. Dry and easy to drink. Lively carbonation. Well done!

From the March 2014 Pittsburgh Ratebeer gathering. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow color with a small soapy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was dry, herbal and had a bit of cracker. The flavor was dry, perfume, vague herbs and a hint of citrus. Medium length dry perfume and herb finish. Light body. Disappointing.

Bottle at Jack has a hairy back tasting, thanks to Leighton, 06/03/14. Hazed orange yellow with a moderate off white covering. Nose is peach, mandarin, tarte fruit, pear, apricot, spice. Taste comprises straw, mandarin, peaches, light spice, citric pithdom. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid sasion, plenty of flavour for the ABV.
