The Gladstone Dry Irish Stout boasts a deeply opaque black body complimented by a persistently dense, creamy mocha head. The dense head created by the Nitrogen mutes some of the aroma, but if you try you can smell rich roasted coffee, dark bakers chocolate, and a hint of sweet cocoa. These flavours are very obvious from the first sip, and pair wonderfully with the creamy Nitrogen bubbles that stream across the tongue and settle pleasantly in the belly. Mouthfeel is silky smooth and the beer feels much lighter on the tongue than the color and class would suggest.

On tap at Gladstone, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Nose is on point, with dry oats and medium toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with powdered dry cocoa, not much else. Competently brewed but forgettable.

Smells of decent sweet barley with some vague coffee. Has a good solid nitro foam and nearly black brown body. Flavour is decent smooth barley with chocolate notes. Mouthfeel is full and sweet. This is a good stout, not unique, but fits the bill well.
