Decent old-school porter, offering up roasted malt with a mocha-ish backbone, coupled with a mild cherry-apricot tang and a mild English hop bitterness. Dry despite the added sugar, with a raisin-chocolate undercurrent that comes through as it warms. Finishes yeasty and has a bit of a neutral fade. Drinkable, yet kinda hard to appreciate after so many amazing American porters.

Bottle. Black with a shade of brown. Small head. Aroma of barley and roasted malts. Minimal vinous and fruity. Taste is malts, dark chocolate, cocoa and a hint of coffee. Sweet. Dry. Some hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Low carbonation. Oily and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Well done and balanced.

Il gusto al naso ritrova il caffè. L’intensità olfattiva è normale e la persistenza olfattiva è corta. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona tenuta ed il bicchiere si contorna di una schiuma di un pizzo che ti invita ad essere un compagno complice di bevute. Le bollicine soni fini e medie. La carbonazione è abbondante. Le bollicine sono fini. La carbonazione è abbondante, persistente ed insistita. Il colore è scuro impenetrabile. Il corpo è strutturato. Il dolce è medio, come l’amaro. L’intensità gustativa è normale e la persistenza gustativa è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono di pronta beva. Il finale è lungo, pulito, complesso ed asciutto. Il retrogusto è persistente. L’aroma in bocca riporta sentori di caramello, miele, cioccolato, caffè e frutta secca.

Svart i fargen med beige skum. Lukter av karamellmalt og mørk sjokolade. Medium fylde. Smaker av sjokolade og noe lakris. Noe bitter avslutning.
