Old notes from Nov 2014 - I've had this in my beer inbox for quite a while.. poured a brown caramel colour with a light brown small head. Aromas of caramel. Tastes of caramel, roasted nut & slight spice. There is lacings left on the edge of the glass the more you drink, which is fairly quickly because I'm really enjoying this!

Cask and bottle. Clear amber body with a beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, raisin, dark chocolate, caramel, copper, wood and nuts. Flavour of marmalade, marzipan, fig, prune, wood, treacle, light spices and caramel biscuit. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A lovely beer - subtle and spicy.

0.5 l bottle. Deep copper color with long lasting, thin off-white head. Malt, bread, toffee, nuts and fruity notes in aroma. In taste it has pretty much the same notes, suplemented with some raisin. Quite long sweetish finish, combined with some bitter overtones, very soft carbonation and medium body. Nice brew.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pours a light cloudy dark amber with a moderate sized beige head, plenty of retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, spice, hay, dried fruits. Promising. Taste is very malty and semi-sweet but flavoursome with caramel, dried fruits, spice and grassy hops give a nice level of bitterness. Very nice indeed.
