Master brewer Alfred Van Roy launched Dobbel PALM in 1947 as a festive beer to celebrate the brewery’s bicentenary. Dobbel PALM is an amber-coloured, top-fermentation beer with an even more pronounced malty and hoppy character than PALM. Dobbel PALM is the ideal connoisseurs’ beer for the festive season.

250ml bottle from beers of Europe. Pours clear pale brown, quickly dissipating off-white head. Aromas are light herbs and demerara sugar. Taste is sweet caramel, carbonation is light, so finishes a bit sticky. Not great.

Clear copper amber colour, nice frothy off-white head, Sweet fruity aroma, toasted bread, caramel, toffee and floral hops, vinous notes. Rather mild sweet and bitter taste. Medium body, thin watery feel, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, some fruity undertones. The beer is a bit flat, kinda unfinished.

Bottle from AH. Poured a clear dark amber with a thin off-white head and some bubbles around the edge. The aroma is dry yeast with a little malt and sweet fruit. The flavour is medium bitter. Light to medium bodied with a thin texture and a sweet malty, slightly watery palate and a short bitter finish. A little weak and watery without any defining attributes.

25cl @ Délices et Caprices. Ambrée, col épais beige. Arôme est très typique belge, sauvée ici par un malté plus caramel qui offre un bouquet moyen vers le sucré. Le tout gardant cette signature Palm, houblonné noble. Palais est malté, très basique, léger pâle, cara, pointe d’amertume du malt et des houblons euro nobles qui ajoutent un côté citronné moyen pour une amertume de fin de bouche on ne peut plus typique..
