Master brewer Alfred Van Roy launched Dobbel PALM in 1947 as a festive beer to celebrate the brewery’s bicentenary. Dobbel PALM is an amber-coloured, top-fermentation beer with an even more pronounced malty and hoppy character than PALM. Dobbel PALM is the ideal connoisseurs’ beer for the festive season.

Bottle, 6%. Clear dark amber with small tan. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit and toasted. Flavour is malt, caramel, medium sweet, hop, toasted, little bitter and a little metallic.

33 cl. bottle thx. to & split with Kraddel / Dylan. Aged by him for some reason for 1.5 to 2 years. Pours a red amber, white bubbles. Smell is caramel, burned sugar, lager yeast, touch iron, campfire and leaves. Bitter caramel, iron, lager yeast, burned sugar, touch metallic, light bitter herbs and metal in the back. Touch light, wattery. Meh...

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff des-12: ikke det jeg forbinder med en dubbel. Mer bitter enn søt. Mild og forsiktig i smaken. Iflg. min belgiske venn Dominique er ikke Palm kjent for å levere den høye kvaliteten.

Draft at Locus Publicus, Rotterdam. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and a little fruit. Flavour is medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

i like palm. i like palm royale, i even like green palm ! but i dont like dobbel palm. until i opened my magnum bottle in may ( also at my birthday in hevig hoekske ). aged for six months, closed with corck ( is that how you write it in english?? ) this realy did the beer wel ! so well, that i fixed myself another one ( wich i will keep a little longer ) i finaly get the fuzz about this. more taste, more aromas, more everything ! palm , level 2 ! updated 4,5 months after original post. i’m gonna rate this even higher cause i just opened a 2 year old viontage and it waawed me again. damn this ages fine! dont drink it fresh though :)

Dość przyzwoity belgijski Ale. Brązowy kolor, piana nie za wielka lecz trwała i pozostawiająca koronkę na pokalu (tulip). W smaku gożkawo karmelowy posmak.

A amber beer. Good white head. Light dry palate. Sweetish malt. Starts crisp but then turns a little soft.

30 cl. bottle @ home. Amber colour with an off-white head. yeasty caramel arome with a hint of young Dutch cheese. Stronger tast than the normal Palm.

Reddish amber colour, off-white head. Slightly sour malt aroma, caramel, rather sweet. Flavour malty, rather sweet. A lot like regular palm. Finish somewhat fruity, banana.

Clear dark amber to red brown beer, big creamy off-white head, stable and adhesive. Aroma: caramel, bit metallic, toast, very malty, sweet. MF: good carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of citrus first, sweet malts, some toast, orange peel, green banana, caramel. Aftertaste: green banana, bitter hops, some citrus.
