Bottle. A- Leather, char, smoke, licorice, cocoa, dark fruits, caramel, booze. A- Black color, black liquid, brown fizzy head. T- Leather, smoke, roasty, slightly bitter, anise, booze. P- Full body, average texture, medium carbonation, strong finish. O- Started off full of char and leather. Then faded into a boozy and bitter flavor. I think this would get better with a little more age. The dark fruits were a nice touch.

355 ml. bottle. Bottled on 03/06/15 (USA dating). Belgian-style Imperial Stout according to the label (I have no idea what that means – Black Albert is the only thing that comes to mind – I am pretty that, this isn’t what they meant). Light reddish black, little in the way of head. Nose is hugely umami, burned mocha, roasted licorice chocolate, boozy, almost medicinal, very intense not necessarily in a fun way but in an interesting way for sure. Taste is insanely umami, earthly, soy sauce, boozy, far too savory, almost salty, burned coffee, heavy earth, almost a dash of peat, almost vineous, heavy licorice, near pure black chocolate, pure coffee beans,… Thick, lingering, savory,… Far too much of one extremity for me. Fascinating but not to my taste. I respect it but I don’t particularly love it. It did start to grow a little bit as the bottle progressed hence the slightly elevated score (given initial impression). Finish is slightly boozy.

Tap @ Hollywood. Big & black. Mild sterile sweet volatile impy stout aroma. No co2, inductively mouth coating. Flavors are nothing but on style terrible impy stout. What else can be said? A big nasty Nellie of a brew that is high alky and burns a little on the way down. DUDE! Way over the top and down the sides. What a silly name for its big impact on the palate. DIZZY!

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of booze, dark fruit, chocolate. Tastes of dark fruit, chocolate, booze, caramel, some red wine-like notes. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Syrupy mouthfeel. Too much dark fruit for my preference.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge convention, 24/01/2015.Many thanks to RichTheVillain. Opaque black / caramel coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is hot alcohol, solventy, choc vanilla, earthy notes. Flavour is composed of semi-sweet, dark choc, nutty, soft smoooth roast. Better in the flavour. Palate is full bodied.

Bottle dated born on: 05/08/2015; best by 05/08/2017 according to Weyerbacher.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with light red hues close to the bottom of the beer. A slim concave off white head dissipated and left some light messy lacing.
The smell started off with a light Belgian-esque spice (muted clove - seems slightly cooked). It then opens up with light chocolate tones and then an earthy sort of raisin.
The taste has the same sort of \"cooked clove\" more or less running into the chocolate tones to be semi-sweet but remain slightly spicy. Light raisin becomes subtle. The aftertaste is only about the \"cooked clove.\"
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation runs low to allow the ABV to take the lead on my tongue - its not too \"boozy hot\" but one can tell it is there.
Overall, imperial stout - yes! With a Belgian twist - yes again. Would I have this again, most likely. And hopefully next time, maybe even give it a little more age.

750 mL bottle for rating #1200. Pours black with a brown head. Fruity molasses, dark fruit, anise aroma, cocoa hints. Flavor is heavy on the chocolate, with anise and raisin, nutty with a little yeasty twist. Gets a bit roasty in the finish. Really liking it.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention 2015. Pours rich black-brown with a creamy beige head. Good and sweet with nice chocolate character, some Belgian candi sugar. Pretty big bodied with light to average carbonation. Perhaps faint oxidation coming forth in the finish, with notes of raisins, other dark fruits, hearty chocolate. Pretty nicely balanced overall. I like it.
