Pours a thick, thick, oily black with smallish tan head. Aromas of chocolate, smoke, some dark fruit, roasted grain. Flavor is very smooth and quite sweet, with chocolate, marshmallow, smoke, roasted grain, a touch of dark fruit, maybe some vanilla, a touch of caramel. The smoke is pretty well mixed-in with everything else--I didn't find it too overpowering. If anything, it might be just a tad too sweet for me. On the whole, quite a tasty beer.
