Intensiver Whiskeymalzgeruch. 11/13/12/13/12/12

Bottle, probably from The Davis Beer Shoppe. #2357, 27 June 2011. Pours very dark brown with a few beige bubbles. Aroma of peat/smoke/alcohol. Full bodied. Quite peaty, but not nearly so smokey/burnt as scotch. Irish whiskey is the thing. Trust me on that. (Connemara whiskey barrels). Beautiful ale.

Bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Pours a dark amber with beige head that quickly diminishes. The aroma is smoke and peat. Thick mouthfeel with a strong scotch whiskey flavor. Alcohol very overpowering, a decent Belgian strong ale.

Cloudy brown colour with thin lacy head. Toasted malts and a little smoke. Good balance of the sweetness with a slight bitterness coming through at the end. Very silky and smooth texture.

Small brown head. Deep red barely translucent body with carbonation. Chocolatey earthy aroma with whisky, fruit and perfume notes. Dry-sweet chocolatey smoky whisky taste with earthy tar notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, faintly hot mouthfeel. Dry smoky chocolatey licorice aftertaste with syrupy notes. Lingering tarry peaty flavour. Nice, but a bit cellary and musty. (0.65l bottle, Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

Bottled. Hazy mahogany colur, small creamy head. Peaty fruit whisky aroma. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Some marzipan hides behind the rich curtains of fruity whisky. Finishising mildly peppery with low bitterness. An elegant sipper.
