You may have caught our instagram exposé on this particular Barn Owl edition, revealing the fact that although in general it is a one-off barrel blend, more specifically it's the OG unblended 2018 Motley. Cat's out of the bag! This blend of barrel aged wild ales is a testament to layered, complex acidity.
Bold, up-front aromas and flavours of dried rose petals, meyer lemon and oak. Nuanced brett characteristics and wild yeast derived flavours play a supporting role, with solid bottle-conditioned carbonation, and a lively body. Delicious, fancy, and so worth enjoying.

Bottle at home. Slightly cloudy orange with creamy off-white head. Tart orange, wheat, bread. Not overly complex layers of flavor but really well integrated funk and citrus. Very good!

Bottle, Sergey's hunt
Hazy golden colour. Funky aroma, armpit, grapes. It's prominently acidic, funky, and fruity (grapes skins).
Excellent.

Bottle, 500 ml shared with kajser27, Miro B and Max. Cloudy orange, white head. Funky, sour, tropical fruit, juicy. Medium bodied. Nice one.
More gueuzey than the Deschutes gueuze attempt. Nice golden honey upfront flavor with some tannic finish, Woody barnhouse nose.

While rating Barn Owl 17 I noticed no review for this beer above it on the brewery page, despite having a distinct memory of rating it. As a result, a quick score from memory. 500ml bottle from the Hafis bottleshop aged ~6mo. A quite tart farmhouse with both lemony lactic and acetic white wine vinegar notes, a surprising strawberry profile overall (phenols), a fair amount of barrel and a light dusting of funk. A solid mixed-ferm beer but felt more like a base for the Motley 18 variants than a star on its own.

Sianowate, przyprawowe, lekko owocowe i nieco octowe. Kapke taniczne. Dosc kwasne. Niewiele co2 jeszcze. Z rochefortem wcale nie tak dobrze to gra, do levelu lambikow nie dorasta, ale bdb

Taster courtesy of karrjin, big thanks. orange hazy color, small off-white head. smells funky, cheesy, marzipan, some wood, nutty. very nice smell. full body, soft carboantion, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, earthy, rather lactic, spices, herbs, some funk, light wood, marzipan again. finishes quite dry and medium sour with notes of citrus, marzipan and some lactic notes. quite nice, but sourness is a bit over the top, overall good stuff.
