Crack open Yeti Imperial Stouts sophisticated sibling Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti's already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can't tame a Yeti?

Thanks for sharing the bottle Jon! Pitch black pour with a small half-finger of brown foam. Oaky, woody aroma with dark fruit and coffee with a bit of sourness. Full body with a well-rounded mouthfeel and average carbonation. Very smooth with a slight creaminess on the palate. Dry but smooth finish that coats the palate and lingers. Some light bitterness but well-balanced. --- Beer merged from original tick of Oak Aged Yeti on 06 Dec 2015 at 16:49 - Score: 8

Poured into a taster showing pitch black with a finger of latte color foam. The nose shows a good combination of coffee tartness, vanilla, and roasted coffee. The palate is very smoothly carbonated and full bodied. The first impression leads with light vanilla forwardness with light chocolate undertones. The mid palate shows the coffee tartness and slight alcoholic heat. The finish is mixture of the bright vanilla and dark coffee with a slight alcoholic spice that stays on the palate for a slight finish.

(650ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours pitch black with a moderate, dense and long lasting mocha head and lace. Aroma strong on roasted malts, coffee, hot cocoa, earth, prune, light vanilla, burnt sugar, toasted wood. Fairly sweet with some hop bitterness and anise buried behind. Palate is sweet and rounded with milk chocolate, dark malt, molasses, vanilla, light woodiness and toast. Lightly toasted woody notes and vanilla more prominent towards the finish, which is drier and bitter with hop, roast, and some coffee grounds. Aftertaste very dry, bitter and woody. No alcohol. Medium-full creamy body with very soft carb, feels lovely in the mouth. This is not a huge bold stout in comparison to some, but the flavours are still rich and the balance is excellent. Very drinkable, not a wrong move, great stuff.

650 ml Bottle at home, 28th March 15. Rating #1100. Purchased in Orlando, 2013, bottled 2012. Pours a great rich black drink, with a lovely fluffy head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, wood. Taste is rich and smooth, the oak comes through well and complements the base beer. Good bitterness, prevents this from been too sugary and sweet. Great stuff

Life is good. Stor takk til Sigmund og Cardinal.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 23.03.15. Black. Foamy and dense brown head and lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee and wood. Similar taste. Rather good. Soft mouthfeel.
