Crack open Yeti Imperial Stouts sophisticated sibling Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti's already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can't tame a Yeti?

Bottle. PItch black, three fingers, some lacings. Aroma is sweet caramell, vanilla, wood, cookies, cocoa and some swedish julmust (a rather sweet Coke-like-soda). Taste is massive and comples, with heavy roasted tones, dark bread, cocoa, vanilla and oak tones that quickly turns into a cascade of hoppy bitterness. Ends lingering bitter, much like the regular Yeti. Full body, smooth oily texture. Average carbo. Well made.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas are light, but woody and generic stoutiness. Taste brings a touch of vanilla, but the oak is really subtle in this. Sweet taste, low bitterness. Clean finish. Pretty good, but not the best of the bunch.

he oak aging on this has overshadowed the base beer make it a chore to finish, especially it being a bomber.

Growler from Joe Canal’s in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Black color liquid topped by a small bubbly brown head. Rich intense roasted malt aroma has notes of cocoa, oak and smoke. Creamy huge roasted malt flavor. Wow! Lot’s of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, oak and charred wood. Lot’s of bitter hops come through in the finish. This is one big, bold mother of a beer. A must have for those that like Imperial Stouts.

Purchased at Whole Foods in Lincolnwood, IL; enjoyed at home during the Bears / Packers game which is cringe worthy. Appearance is pitch black, rich oil like consistency, thin tan head. Aroma is very rich in chocolate with a wood backing, also lactose, espresso, smell is decadent. Taste is fantastic, great roasted chocolate profile, goes down very smooth. I’m a fan of all of the Yeti varieties.
