Crack open Yeti Imperial Stouts sophisticated sibling Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti's already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can't tame a Yeti?

Can’t read the bottle date - either late 2010 or early 2011. Aroma has a medium light oak note with moderate chocolate and roast notes. Light coffee character with medium fruit notes. Fruit includes raisins, plums and figs. Light cardboard oxidation setting in and light alcohol note. Pours black with a big moderately thick dark mocha head with average retention. Medium light lacing with mid sized legs. Flavor is similar to aroma but with a lot more chocolate and roast and less fruit and oak. Moderately strong dark chocolate note with medium light roast and light coffee notes. Faint oak character and light fruit esters. Faint oxidation and medium light alcohol note in the finish. Moderately high bitterness. As it warms I pick up more raisin and fig as well as a hint of soy sauce. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall an alright beer, but the flavor is much better than the aroma. Not nearly as much oak character as the fresh version I had at the brewery this weekend. Light oxidation setting in.

Bottle - Light soy, chocolate and oak. Jet black with a chaotic brown head. Espresso and dark chocolate with minimal oak. Very nice, just wish the oak translated into flavour.

Tap at Great Divide, Denver. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin tan head and an oil like consistency. The aroma is rich roasted malt with loads of boozy alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a big liqourice roasted malt coffee chocolate alcoholic palate. A true king of beers.

Wonderful package. Great balance of barrel and other elements in this. Equal parts oak, chocolate, roast malt, creamy coffee and roasted nut. Creamy, thick texture. Soft carbonation with a bittersweet finish that goes through a voyage of palates. Pours black with mocha head and great lacing. Bottle.

THX! for sharing Kraddel. 650 ml. bomber. Lovely label as usual. Black, mocha head, big bubbles gone fast. Nose is strong licorice, alcohol, thick roasted malts, molasses, lightly burned and very fresh oak, lightly herbal,… Taste is sweeter mocha, fresh wood / oak, licorice, booze, light licorice, herbal chocolate sweetness, light hops, lingering bitter roast, licorice and touch oak. Lightly viscous and flatter. Agreable.

Bottle - Black in colour. Roasted malt, plain chocolate and liquorice in the aroma. Roasted taste with malt, coffee and liquorice standing out. The aftertaste is a bit weird.
