Crack open Yeti Imperial Stouts sophisticated sibling Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti's already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can't tame a Yeti?

Bottle. Pours pitch black, with a nice finger thick coffee coloured head. Wonderful sweet aroma with cocoa, coffee and vanilla, tar, oak barrels and whisky as well as lots of dark fruits with raisins, prunes and some nuts. Body is full and oily as expected, and the carbonation is smoothly soft. Flavour is sweet with burned malts, leather and tobacco, coffee and cocoa, as well as a nice hoppiness. Nice long burned finish.

650 ml. 2011 vintage. Opaque black liquid with persistent, medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, wort, raw sugar, vanilla, wood, coconut, deep chocolate, resin and caramel. Almost no booze. Nice. Taste is not as sweet as the regular yeti (just a hint of sweetness), medium bitter with notes of bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla and light ash. Ends in lots of bitter chocolate. Full bodied with low carbonation. Very nice stuff.

Bottle at home - 14/06/12. 2011 batch. Rich mid black pour with a dirty finger of mocha head. Big chocolate and roast malt nose, dark sugar, wood and a decent boozy waft ! Taste as per nose with a little bitterness and dark fruit. Full bodied beast , creamy mouth feel, a tad chewy - but spot on for this type of beer. Complex flavours and well moulded, finishes with a decnt alcohol kick.
