Inspired by the abundance of the West Coast, this sour ale was brewed with Gillespie’s Fine Spirits’ Raspberry Gin. Filled with locally foraged botanicals and raspberries, plus our own addition of spruce tips, this beer is citrusy, sour, and harmoniously balanced. A perfect collision of craft beer and craft spirit.

On tap at 12 Kings, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of raspberries upfront, with some gin botanicals to follow, and lacto. Flavour is along the same lines, with plenty of gin botanicals upfront, with more subdued raspberries, and barely a trace of spruce. Strange mix that isn't totally cohesive but not messy either. Okay.

Has an aroma of soft raspberry fruit with vague grain hints. Okay soft white foam is on top of a slightly cloudy body. Flavour is okay citrus mixed with some sour ale, and I can't identify the spruce. Mouthfeel is medium though not too crisp. This is an okay brew but things aren't interacting as great as they could be.
