Min bedre halvdel vil nok like den.

Bottle at the Brussels Beer Cafe, Petaling Jaya. Poured a clear deep reddish brown with a bubbly broken white head. The aroma is fruity and of Belgian yeast. The flavour is sharp, crisp and bitter which hits the palate immediately along with a little red berry fruitiness. The Belgian yeast is also very evident in the palate and the aftertaste. This IS a good beer, but its not a huge personal favourite.

330ml bottle - Pours a reddish-amber with an off-white head. Aroma is dominated by malt and spices, with a banana-ish note lingering in there. The taste is dominated by candy sugar, with fruits and spices making an appearance as well. This is a very complex beer, though it is not the best Leffe I’ve had.

Typische leffe smaak, de bitterste variant. Geelbruine kleur.

330ml bottle picked up at one of the many SuperMarkets in Rethymno. Nice appearance with a burgunder coloured neck, dark amber body covered by a rocky, slightly off-white head. Modest sweet malts to the nose with hints of plums. Plums and raisin in flavour added by mild yeasty fruitiness. Candy fruity sweetness to the ending. Full bodied. Nice, in spite of all the sweetness (hotel room, 12.08.2012).

Bottle shared with Lyoli in Brussels. Pours rich, clear copper with a small, creamy white head. Big alcohol and caramel malt nose, some toasty sugars, mild hints of ripe fruits, grapes. The flavour is very sweet and the alcohol is very present. There’s a lot of rich malt character here, almost reminiscent of an Enlish barley wine; there aren’t many hops here. Also some ripe and sugary fruits, dates, berries. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming on the finish with more heavy malts, caramel, ripe fruits, alcohol, rich bread, mild toasty sugars. It’s a heavy-handed beer, but there are some interesting characteristics here.
