33cl Bottle, best before 9th Feb 2013, reviewed Apr 2011. Poured into a Leffe chalice. The body was a clear Mahogany Browny/Red colour above sat an off-white head of large bubbles that was to leave some good lacing as the beer level fell. The beer gave off a slight hop aroma with red berries and summer floral smells mixed in. The beer came across as a well carbonated, semi-sweet beer with hints of red berries in the flavours, especially in the aftertaste. The alcohol wasn’t evident in the brew, well hidden considering it holds 8.2%ABV. One of the Leffe stables better beers.

Bottle from Beers of Europe
Copper red brown...clear...filtered....very thin white head
Aroma - Belgian yeast...spicy....bit aromatic...bread.....caramel malts...hint of cloves...slightly medicinal...alcohol well hidden...complex
Taste - Dark caramel malts...fruity malts...bready yeast...raisins...dark fruits...smooth flavour...less complex than aroma...light bitter hop...alcohol well hidden...rather sweet
Palate - soft carb...smooth...bit sticky oily texture. FInish as main flavour...lingering sweet dark fruity malts...hint of warming alcohol
Overall - Taste not as complex as aroma and a bit over sweet. It’s far better than Leffe Blonde.

33cl bottle, 8.2%, 1.60€, best bef. may ’13. Clear dark amber to red color, less than one finger light beige fine head, good lacing. Fruity nose. Massive fruityness, candy fruits, red fruits (cherry, raspberry). Sweet malts wrapping with spices and moderate hops. Balanced bitter finish, that’s quite dry and not sticky. Creamy texture, full bodied, dense still not too thick. Well hidden alcohol, cound say this is a 6.5%. Fizzy carbonation. Sipped long for one hour or so, good.
