Дуппельбок от самой старой пиповарни в мире. Аромат довольно приятный и мягкий, пиво сильно пенится. Вкус довольно мягок для дуппельбока, порой кажется даже слишком... Чувствуется черный жженый хлеб во вкусе. Данный напиток очень питкий и совершенно не карбонизированный.

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Near black with small consistent beige head. Notes of toffee, raisins, chocolate, liquorice. Taste is extremely moreish and full flavoured for the style. Medium bodied, fine carbonation.

Notes from July 2009 $3 bottle from Whole Foods. Pils glass. Beautiful oatmeal cascade settles into about an inch & a half of sturdy froth. Deep garnet, black tea color. Never noticed before how filtered it was. Energy saving LEDs have come a long way. Smells of lots of coffee creamer & cocoa. A heavy Fig Newton/Fruit & Grain character occupies the middle. Endtrails are mostly earth & alcohol. Soothing. Flavor is dusty bread crust upfront, some cream, followed by scorched nuts. Molasses, though thinned out still manage to coat it. Alcohol is pretty manageable. Finish is just a bit of barky bitterness, with a touch of smoke. It doesn't quite taste fresh though. It's creamy certainly, but doesn't exhibit the thicker toffee I remember when the shelf was first filled. Carbonation is barely recognized, & though it has never been stiff, that was different too. Fresh, this is a top 10 beer for me. Edit 12/24: Fresh flavor is doughy with hazelnuts, creamy & gentle with the caramel. Just a twinge of bitter earth. Carbonation is just a hair better then last time, but it whips the beer in a constant froth. Love it. :)
