Look: almost black with some faint ruby highlights, big beige head with good retention.
Aroma: black malts, toasty, a little barnyardy, sheep cheese. When it warms up, you get a bit ore sweetness and even some chocolate. Some fresh cut pumpkin too.
Taste: roasty, light sweetness and coffee. Bretty and green fruit acid „spice”. The finish is moderately bitter with some charcoal.

Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and crispy. Tangy mild dark malts, whisper of roast. Finishes crisp and dry. Simple crisp light stout.

Tasted at tap on 04/06/2014. Black opaque colour with white-off head. Aroma dominates for roasted malts and coffee. Medium dry coffee taste. The problem is the intensity not as hard as it should be. Next one please!

Bottle. Pours black with a dark tan head. Quit smooth, dry and lots of rosted malts.

Bottle: Nose is musty, slight sweet tone, Belgian yeast, slight licorice: underwhelming. Taste is licorice, dry Belgian yeast, earthiness and a little smoke in the finish. There is an almost brett like note in the middle with a little salt. Mouthfeel is much to thin. A confusing beer, which is not very good.

Tap at North Bar, Leeds. Clear, cola colour. Tidy, lasting, off white head. Roasted coffee beans. Dry cocoa. Light tang. Taste is dry, with a light, roast bitterness. Hint of cacao sweetness. Dry, superlight bitter finish.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/27/2013. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2-3 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, toast, dark bread, raisin, pear, apple, clove, pepper, herbal, and roast/yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and fruity/spicy yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, toast, dark bread, raisin, pear, apple, clove, pepper, herbal, and roast/yeast earthiness. Slight amount of earthy roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, roast, coffee, toast, dark bread, raisin, pear, apple, clove, pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and robustness of dark/roasted malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a good malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly chalky/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good Belgian stout. Good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A unique and pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Draught. Clean black with a large head. Aroma is light malt. Flavour is smoky Belgian ale, burnt ashy base, get better as you work throughout. Long ash finish.
