Cask at Picture House, Stafford โ€“ but have drunk it many times elsewhere before. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head but good lacing. The aroma speaks of burnt toast and molasses to me. In the mouth itโ€™s briefly creamy before sweet fruits and liquorice come through to swamp it. Later still there are hints of chocolate. Finish is slightly bitter. Itโ€™s nice enough, but seems to lack any defining โ€œporteryโ€ characteristic.
