A cheeky pint of cask at the Crutched Friar. A deep dark brown in the glass and a reasonable head for a cask beer. The taste was all about the rich malt with some balancing bittering hops. It slipped down a treat with a smooth malty mouthfeel and reminded me of my youth when I used to drink gallons of this growing up in Wiltshire. It's a true English session bitter that is totally on style. It was also kept very well by the pub as this stuff tends to be terrible at travelling.

From the pump at 1843, Rimini, Italy. Pours a brilliant light amber with almost no foam. Aroma is traditional of terrain and some hazelnut. Generally weak. Body is average with limited carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, with good bitterness. Finish is average.

Sample at sebar. Amber color, big offwhite head, lacing. Aroma is a bit weird, caramel with some plum and vague yeast. taste sourish, light sugary. Dry finish, soft carb, light body, aftertaste is similar to kit beers and fermented sugar. Mh.

Cask at the Alma, Upper Hale. Slight maltyness of an aroma. Amber. OK white head.Sweet with a bitter edge. Again there’s as maltyness to it. Light bodied. A carbonation that became more prominent as I started to finish off to get pack to work, which I didn’t find pleasant. Bland as. Can’t believe this is a mate’s favourite beer, especially a they used to work in a decent pub.
