This special version of BA B.O.R.I.S. was aged in very special Canadian Whiskey barrels, instead of Kentucky Bourbon barrels. What you get is a crisper, cleaner character imparted from the barrel aging, which is a refreshing twist on this specialty – our highest rated beer.

The Aromas are lots of molasses and black patent, not a huge fan of molasses in beer. Flavors are much better, tempered by some roastiness, cocoa and a little coffee. Body is good along with carbonation and a nice roasty finish with a little coffee.

Minimal tan head left a spotty cover on very dark brown still body. Huge aroma whisky, wood, rum, malt & demerara. Full bodied, do smooth - feels like oil & velvet over the tongue with slight tingle in the back & clean aft. Chocolate malt, brown sugar, raisin, plum, liquorice, whisky, vanilla & roasted tastes with a fruity finish.

Holy hell. B.O.R.I.S. at its best. So many layers: chocolate, anise, caramel, roast, raisin, black cherry, mocha, plum, vanilla, oak, char, and whisky, all rolling across your palate, swirling and smashing, growing sweet yet veering into whisky warmth and a bitter oaked finish. Silky smooth texture is full but not overly viscous, leading to a massive stout with scary drinkability. Just an amazing stout.

12 oz bottle! I love it that I don't have to finish a whole bomber by myself anymore. Jet black colour. Brown head with little retention. Aroma's of coffee, mocha, dark chocolate, some red fruit, umami. Retronasal there's quite a bit of fruit, light alcohol/booze, roasted malts. Flavour is moderate sweet, roasted, dark chocolate. Alcohol feel is not too strong or burning. Medium bodied. Long finish with firm roast, moderate bitter. Good stuff!

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is chocolate, medium body, lower carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is Canadian whiskey, oak, chocolate, booze (more as it warms) and some anise. I remembering liking the bourbon BORIS better.
