Bottle from the lcbo. Dark brown pour, large beige head. Aroma is malty, sticky sweet and really nice cherry. Very lively mouth feel, good carb. Finish is fruity, typical unibroue yeasty flavour, chewy sweet, brown sugary malts, and more cherry.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured almost black with an enormous foamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was musty and malty with bread crust and yeast notes. The flavor was tangy cherry, yeast, bread crust, toffee and cola. Medium length cherry finish. Medium body.

750mL bottle, pours black / dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma brings out loads of cherry juice, black forest cake, candied sugar, and Belgian yeast. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of signature Unibroue yeast, black forest cake, and black cherries. The yeast outdoes the sweetness, which is pleasing. Not one of their most complex beers, but this is very solid.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of dark cherries, a touch of cocoa and Belgian yeast. Flavour brings out the classic Unibroue Belgian yeast, followed by lovely dark cherries and a touch of cocoa. Very nice balance, with a great yeast profile. Really nice stuff.

750c&c from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Opened with a loud pop/whoosh. Pours dark brown with a huge foamy beige head that turned to froth. Aroma of dark cherries over sweet dark malt. Med body or a bit more. Flavor is dark cherry and dark malt. Actually rather towards dry, surprisingly. Sort of bitter cherry with some unparsable spice. Very enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass; bottled on 9/6/2018, best before 2023. Pours hazy nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge juicy red/black cherries, raspberry, fruit skin, raisin, plum, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, red apple, red grape/wine, coriander, peppercorn, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted brown bread; with light notes of banana, bubblegum, chocolate, cocoa, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Fantastic aromas with amazing balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, cherry juice, spices, sugar, and dark/bready/light roasted malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge juicy red/black cherries, raspberry, fruit skin, raisin, plum, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, red apple, red grape/wine, coriander, peppercorn, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted brown bread; with light notes of banana, bubblegum, chocolate, cocoa, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; peppery yeast spiciness; and cherry tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of red/black cherries, raspberry, fruit skin, raisin, plum, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, red apple, red grape/wine, coriander, peppercorn, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, light chocolate/cocoa, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cherry juice, spices, sugar, and dark/bready/light roasted malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness, and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness, tart/tangy fruit, and carbonation. High carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly crisp/sticky/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild warmth of 10.5% after the finish. Overall this is an amazing fruited/spiced Belgian strong dark ale! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cherry juice, spices, and dark/bready/light roasted malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV; with the mellowly bitter/spicy/tart/drying finish. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Perfectly balanced yeast, spices, cherry juice, sugars, and malt complexity. Minimal residual sweetness from crisp/drying carbonation. A highly amazing offering, and spot on style example as expected.
