New England-Style beers are American Pale Ales and IPAs that are most often described as hazy and juicy. The haze is due to the higher protein malts that are used as well as yeasts-like our English house yeast-that do not flocculate as well as the standard American Ale yeasts. This leaves particulates in the beer that give it the noted hazy appearance.
Since we believe that filtration removes too much flavour the haze sticks around. This, combined with a light whirlpool hopping and a robust double dry-hop, results in a big tropical fruity/citrusy aroma and taste; hence juicy.
It may look a bit like a milkshake and taste a bit like juice-but that’s the whole point!

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Cloudy orrange-blond colour with generous head. Nice aroma, fruity, melow, plenty of stone fruits with a light tropical note. Lean mouthfeel, very dry, with delicate malt base, and juicy fresh hops, that would be more expressive with a bit of sugar, but this is a lean Pale Ale, so deal with that. The final is a bit short and weak.
Easy to drink; fresh and perfect choice for Pale Ale lovers and as session beer for a warm Canadian summer day.

Thanks TimE for sharing the can! Poured into a wine glass showing hazy pale gold with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of clean kiwi, mango, and clean NE style malt. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Clean NE style malt throughout with a light bitterness. Very good pale ale.

Rating from memory on this one. Had it on the weekend at a house party. What was distinctive is that there was a lady there who is just starting to get into craft beer. She didn't know much, but I asked her what she thought of this beer and she just said "breakfast". That was a very apt description given how juicy this is citrus bomb is. I find I tend to like NE style IPA/IIPAs more than PA, but the juiciness with the lack of body just made this highly poundable. I think the women is one to something and I might have to drink a can of this with breakfast sometime in the near future.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy gold with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of wheat malt, pineapple, mango, grapefruit and orange. Sweet fruity flavour of wheat malt, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, grapefruit, orange, lemon and oats with a dry, bitter hop finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice, easy drinking APA. Very juicy and fresh.
