Cask at Number Twenty2, Darlington. Clear golden amber colour, white foam head leaving lacing and malty caramel aroma. Taste is malt, earthy, some biscuit, grains and with metallic bitterness. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry metallic bitter finish. OK

Cask @ The Abbey. Pours clear amber, off-white topping. Subtle gentle malt on the nose. Taste is clean, exceptionally light with a gentle earthy malt character. Lacks any complexity or depth of flavour, just a standard crowd-pleasing bitter.

Cask @ Woodin's Shades, London. Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of biscuits, mild citrus fruits, honey, malts with a little bit of diacetyl. Taste is toffee, citrus fruits, malts and some caramel. Moderate presence of hops. Low carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice Bitter and better than the bottled version.

Cask (Union Inn, Cowes) - Amber in colour. Biscuity and fruity aroma with notes of apricot, sultanas and grain. Nicely balanced taste with grain, sultanas, dried apricot and some earthy and floral notes.

From cask at Bank, Manchester, 29.11.17. Dark golden. Dense and persistent head and lacing. Aroma and taste of pale malt, hints of caramel and nuts. Medium low bitterness. Good quaffability.

(2017 London) ½ Pint Cask @ Doggett’s Coat & Badge. Near clear amber, off-white head, nice lacing. Nose is buttery wet soggy grains, cereal, toffee, caramel. Taste is butter, sunflowers, soggy grains, oily cereal, grain, almost raw wort. Body is thick soggy grains, cereal, toffee butter. Not bad but definitely not a wow like hoped, might be not optimal but I don’t dare judge cask quality due to my lack of knowledge.

Cask at the Butchers Hook & Cleaver. Very well kept Pride and a reminder of how good it can be. Malt, bitter hops and that nice biscuity flavour that goes with it. When its good, its very good and this was! A good solid English bitter and I really liked it.

Can pour, clear Amber, small off white head, good lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, cracker, caramel, faintly nutty. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Light body, low carbonation. Quite pleasant and easy to drink. Not quite a hotel golde, but likely my first genuine real ale

Cask at The Ship, Meads, Eastbourne. It just fell a bit flat for me this time, a bit soapy. Obviously drinkable and I think if I started with this beer it would be different but distinctly average this time. Unlike the amazing unfiltered version at the pub in Chiswick.... (20/4/17) ----- Cask at The Barrowboy and Banker, London. Glorious pint of pride. So gluggable. How a bitter should feel. 2.9 to 3.1.
