Full-flavoured ruby beer combing the best of Scottish barley and English hops, profoundly malty in aroma and flavours but balanced with a raisiny spiciness and toasty dryness. Distinctive fresh, slightly citrus tang with a rich finish.

I don't know why it's lost my rating for this one. I'll add another full review if / when I have it again. I remember not being impressed but the details elude me.

Medium creamy offwhite head. Clear brown body. Floral earthy strawy aroma. Dry-sweet dusty strawy caramel taste with wooden grainy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, flat mouthfeel. Dryish floral dusty strawy aftertaste with roasty grainy notes. Lovely. Subtle, vivid and highly drinkable. (0.284l cask at The Duke of York, Whitby.)

What Dogbomb said, only more so. Not my cup of tea, thought the citrus characteristics clashed badly with the maltiness.

Cask at Christian Firtal. Hazy amber with a small white head. Malty aroma with toffee and grain and a faint fruity note. Dry and malty flavour with a grainy touch, and a somewhat unpleasant tannic, possibly roasted dryness, along with a faint hoppy finish
