Weak tinny fig aroma. Clear bronze, thin head. Alcohol barely noticeable. Thin to medium body. Light candied fig flavor with a leafy finish. A very understated quad. I’ve had dubbels with more oompf. This is way overrated.

Had Feb ’11-bottled Dec 10 Batch 9-12oz bottle-thanks jtclockwork for sharing-pours a dissipating light tan head and dark amber color. Aroma is medium malt-roasty/toffee, grainy, medium/dark fruit-some raisin. Taste is earthy, medium malt-roasty/peat/foffee, some alcohol, spice-sage. Nose is an 8, as it warms, 7.

Dark ruby read with a lasting beige head. Nice sweet fruits, plum, light yeast, and maybe a bit of booze in the aroma. Medium, silky body. Flavor is full of ripe fruit, plum, lightly sweet malts, yeast, a touch of spice, and light alcohol heat. Mighty fine.

Bottle: Poured a clear medium copper color ale with a super large light brown head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of light brown sugar notes with some light maple syrup notes and light dry fruits. Taste is a nice mix of brown sugar and light dry fruits with not as much character as expected. Body is below average for style with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I must admit to being slightly disappointed by this one with thin body and not much character but again though style to brew considering the best in style.
