This unique IPA shares all the tropical and citrus flavors of our Jai Alai IPA but with an added dimension imparted by Spanish cedar, the same wood used to make cigar humidors. Wood from the Cedrela odorata tree is added post-fermentation to impart notes of sandalwood and cracked black pepper, adding depth of flavor and accentuating the IPA’s moderate bitterness.

Spanish cedar really adds an interesting vibe here. Like a cigar case for sure. Pours murky orange-brown with good head and great lacing. Lime and pine from hops. Decent malt backbone. Bitter and woody end like Dracula's death. Tap at brewery.

Draft 12 oz pour at Cigar City. Considering how much of a bitch it ended up being getting down to this fine city, sitting here, and enjoying a taproot exclusive is the definition of relief. Cloudy orange copper pour with a thin fizz head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity, and a bit pepper like, though it is likely a created clone aroma. Big robust flavor, dry, wood finish. Maintained hop quality and orange fruit. I’m just happy to be here. Very unique. Delicious.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with big, frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty, woody nose with citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, apricots, caramel, rye and fresh aromas of cedar wood. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, grapefruit, apricot marmalade, caramel, rye, balanced flavours of cedar wood and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Very tasty and well balanced IPA. The cedar wood gives it an extra dimension and stays in good balance, never taking over from the hops. Just a great beer!

Bottle. Gusher. Frothy White good mostly lasting head. Orange colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter wonderfull flavor. Cedar cask nicely present. Long heavy nice finish. Creamy palate.

Draft at World of Beer, Fort Myers. Poured like their Jai Alai, clear orange colored with a medium sized white head. That’s where these two depart. Aroma was very interesting, I give them 5/5 on originality (if that were a choice to rate on). It smells like a humidor. It reminds me of being a child and passing by the Tobacco Barn every time I was in my local mall. It smells like I just cracked open a new box of cigars. It has that residual smell of my hands after smoking a cigar. However, all of that dominates the beer for me - it destroys whatever nuanced notes you get from the beer itself and replaces it with cedar. I love cedar. I don’t know if I love a beer that smells and tastes pretty much like cedar. I’d probably drink this one again, but I don’t know if I can stand behind it as a beer. itself when placed up against their other offerings or other IPAs.

(Thanks Jay "GodOfThunder") Can. A- Grapefruit, gummy bears, citrus. A- Burnt orange color, clear liquid, minimal head. T- Grapefruit juice, citrus, herbs, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, juicy finish. O- Being from Nebraska, I always envied those that could get Cigar City. I got lucky and got some in a free beer contest. Holy cow, I was not disappointed. This reminds me of drinking grapefruit juice. Very juicy taste with just the right amount of bitterness. So damn good.
