Abita Jockamo IPA® is an American IPA brewed with pale, red, and caramel malts. This copper-colored ale is liberally hopped and dry hopped with Willamette and Columbus hops. The flavor is bold like the “Mardi Gras Indians” who march through New Orleans in suits of feathers and beads.
Jockamo has a flavor that entices and excites the palate. The intense hop character adds more spice to the meal and makes it a perfect choice to team up with many spicy dishes. Cheddar and strong farmer cheeses stand up well to Jockamo’s hoppy character. Jockamo goes well with wild game, grilled meats and Thai or Mexican cuisine.

Pours amber into a shaker. Off-white conglomerate head with good retention spiders as it slowly recedes. Cut grass and spruce aromas. Bitter lemon upfront turning to caramel in the middle before an astringent, lasting bitter grapefruit pith finish.

On tap at Stags Head. For some reason they gave me a head of hops to through in my beer. it didn’t really do anything but whatever. Pours amber and tastes of caramel malt. a tad fruity with a dry finish. not too bad start to the evening

Pours clear orangish color with off white head. Toffee aroma with some floral and pine hops. Caramel flavor with some hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonaion.

12 oz bottle purchased as part of an Abita sampler at World Market. Pour is clear golden reddish with a well formed two inch white head. Head falls slow with nice lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus, along with fresh grain maltiness and a grassy earthiness underneath. Taste is the nose, sweet orange citrus balanced with the biscuit maltiness and a dry mineral grassy finish. The sweet tastes a bit less fresh than the nose, but still nice enough. Palate is medium to thin bodied, a bit oily and the dry finish. Nice enough.

Bottled@Monks Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, grass, earth, wood and some mild notes of nectar. Flavour is quite much the same in a nice balanced way. Not too radical.

From tap at Pacific Brewing. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is dry wooden malty and solid hoppy. Bitter, dry fruity and slight spiced flavoured, Dry into a solid hoppy finish. Light malty note providing a hint of counterbalance.

Pour is a orange with a large white head. Aroma is a very slight pine and not much else. Flavor is a big sweet mess. Very little hops show up just a lot of heavy sweet malts. This is not a good IPA and never again.

bottle, pours light amber with a medium off white head. Hop soup aroma. Nicely balanced toasted malt and bittersweet hop finish. Easy drinker.
