This beer is another one of those beers that has been around since our early years. Though, it has gone through some changes over time. We wanted to brew an American IPA. We wanted it to have and aroma from which you could pick up everything that you like with the style. To achieve this, we hopped and dry-hopped it with five, high alpha acid, American hops. And, almost by default, it got its name. High Five! Initially, this beer clocked in at 7.5%. But in order to make it a little lighter we took it down to 6.5.%. And, while the hops are still the same, we've increased the amount of hops and dry-hops numerous times. Because, times change. And, even though you got a hop-punch from this in 2007, the amount of hops in it then would not have given you one now. But since it's more, a lot more, you do!

Bottle, 6.5% ABV, BB was a month ago (from beergium). Pours dark golden with whiteish head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, fruity, citrus, mango, sugar. Flavor is sweet and somewhat bitter, fruits, citrus, mango. Finish has sugar and some citric-pine bitterness with some alcohol showing. Overall: good, but too sweet. Still, this is rather generous rating, since it’s over BB and I’m sure fresh product is even more fruity.

Bottle from Beers’n’more. A rather meaty malty IPA. Still with strong hops, but their not dominating. Rather dry and refreshing.

Bottle from the Great Beer Bar, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a clear light amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yeast, light woody grass hop. The flavour is moderate with a smooth woody resin yeast hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Backlog. Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 11.05.13. Unclear amber yellow. Fine head. Aroma of American hops and grapefruit. Similar taste, with bitter orange marmalade. Long and bitter aftertaste with citrus seeds. Appropriately lively mouthfeel. OK, but with a harsh bitterness in aftertaste.

33cl bottle, 6.5% at Arlanda. Poured amber with a thick white head. Tropical fruity, some pine and malt in aroma. Flavor has resin, citrusy notes, malt and piney notes, especially in the finish. Bitter. Bit thin, but refreshing.

(330ml bottle @ Lilla Puben, Kalmar, Sweden, Oct 9 2015) Pours a hazy dark gold with a small, rapidly fading white head without lace. Aroma of fresh citrus, orange oil, grapefruit pith, pine resin, a bit tropical with some caramel sweetness. On the palate, pretty grapefruit heavy with orange in support, big fruit over a caramel base up front. Some pine resin and citrus pith bitterness comes in towards the finish, up to a moderately high level, finishing dry despite being sweetish overall. Medium body with fairly low carb. Good one if a bit sweet and biased to the citrus side of things.
