This beer is another one of those beers that has been around since our early years. Though, it has gone through some changes over time. We wanted to brew an American IPA. We wanted it to have and aroma from which you could pick up everything that you like with the style. To achieve this, we hopped and dry-hopped it with five, high alpha acid, American hops. And, almost by default, it got its name. High Five! Initially, this beer clocked in at 7.5%. But in order to make it a little lighter we took it down to 6.5.%. And, while the hops are still the same, we've increased the amount of hops and dry-hops numerous times. Because, times change. And, even though you got a hop-punch from this in 2007, the amount of hops in it then would not have given you one now. But since it's more, a lot more, you do!

Bottle picked up at Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury and consumed at home Monday 31st August 2015 Hazy warm gold with a mid sized foamy head. Lots of fruit but particularly big on the citrus front with pink grapefruit and a assertive tart jaffa hit, it’s juicy man. Bittersweet throughout but really easy drinking beer, dry and nicely bitter. I think I’ve had this before but think the label was probably different, it’s good, really good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Bottle at home. Pours a clear, dark straw color with an off-white head. Lots of hops in the aroma with grass, pine, grapefruit, pale malt, hay and some caramel. Heavy hoppy flavor as well with amounts of grassy hops, grapefruit and pine. Medium body, slick mouth feel, and a heavy bitterness. A really hoppy IPA. A little too hophead in my opinion but solid though.

From tap. Light hazy golden orange color with off white head. Hoppy aroma, citrusy fruity, orange, light pine and grassy, caramel malty too. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours clear gold with a decent white head. Aroma is fresh citrus hops. Quite a quaffable IPA with a good citrus presence but fails to hit the high notes for me.

Flaska från SB. Doftar bra av ananas, grape och passionsfrukt. Skön beska med tropiska frukter som balanseras bra av en lätt sötma. Skön eftersmak med lite ompf i alkoholtrycket.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. No visible carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon, sawdust and mango. Flavour of lime, grass, sweet biscuit and lychee. Medium body with an oily texture. Faint fizz. A soft, moreish IPA - very drinkable for 7.5% ABV.
