This is our interpretation of Gose (pronounced “Gose-uh”), a traditional German-style sour wheat beer brewed with coriander and salt. Once nearly extinct, this very refreshing style is making a comeback.

Can at Himmeriget, Copenhagen. Poured a hazy straw colour with a short-lived fizzy white head. The aroma is gluey skunky grainy malt and some light spice. The flavour is moderate sour with a fresh crisp, biscuit dough, light fruit, salty spicy palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Perfekter Vertreter.

Hazy, golden beer with medium body that vanishes quite quickly. Aroma has sourness, fruits, grass and spices. Taste has sour citrus and other fruits, grass, salt and wheat. Quite light body, very nice and refreshing. This is the way I like to have my Gose. Refreshing, fruity and not too sour or salty.

Bottle (or can?), sometime in 2014. Hazy light orange-yellow body, thin off-white head. Sour nose, light, fruity, and grassy. I noted the body was "sour, sour, sour," which I assume to mean sour, with herbal and floral notes. Weird salted-rim margarita impression.

Can from Bacchanalia, Mill Road. Pours cloudy yellow gold with a short lasting white head. Aroma of lemon, lime, green mango, coriander, cucumber, banana and salt with slight mint. Light sweetness, medium sour, moderately salty. Light body, oily texture, average carbonation. Salty, and increasingly sour finish. Decent.
