3 Fonteinen Hommage is the result of macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries and raspberries on young lambic for at least four months, in a proportion of 760 to 800 grams of raspberries and 200 to 240 grams of sour cherries per litre of lambic. This fruit lambic is then blended again with more lambic to obtain a minimum intensity of 35% fruit. Hommage is a bodied raspberry lambic beer, with an intense deep red forest fruit bouquet. This unfiltered and unpasteurised lambic is all-natural with no artificial juices, syrups, or sugars added.

Bottle. 17/18 vintage. The colour is hazy dark red and with no head. Aroma of heather, red currants, cherries, barnyard, lemon juice and fruity tea. Flavour of citric acid, red currants, oak, apple cider vinegar and raspberries. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Still pretty fruity, and is tasteful and well balanced.

Lots of raspberries in the aroma, taste has an above average sourness, tart, sharp but not that sharp as expected, full, sweet, lots of raspberries and some cherries, it’s like a raspberry buttermilk drink, nice

75cl bottle as “Hommage (Season 17|18) Blend No. 28” (bottled 15/03/18, 5,6%) from the brewery. F: medium, off-pink, quick gone. C: dark red hazy. A: a lot of raspberries, sour cherries, sour fruity, funky, horse blanket, bit woody. T: raspberries, cherries, bit woody, 3F funky, sour fruity puckering, very fruity but bit more sour than I expected, soft to medium carbonation, very good, fully enjoyed.

Fairly hazy red purple with a lively and big hit short lived pink head. The aroma jumps out at you as soon as you pour and I knew straight away I was in for a treat! Huge raspberry jam with lightly balanced cherry notes and that beautiful 3 Fonteinen cellar funk. Cobwebby, a little dusty, mineral notes fresh tart raspberry and that huge gorgeous raspberry jam. This is a good vintage and it’s taken age well. Flavour is moderate sweet and sour. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Fantastic!
