We could wax poetic about the 2003’s leathery, herbal, citric, woody, vanilla, buttery qualities—but the only way to truly appreciate it is to taste it yourself. The one quality we must emphasize is that this is an OUDE LAMBIEK (old Lambic) NOT Geuze. There is some very light sparkle to the beer but it is not intended to have the high champagne-like carbonation that Geuze aims for.

Shared 750 ml bottle at a lambic tasting, Lilland Bryggerihotell, Tau. Hazy orange colour, no head. Very moderate natural carbonation. Strong and pleasant brettanomyces aroma, "farmhouse" notes galore. Sour brettanomyces flavour, notes of lemons. Astringent finish.

Bottle @ Steve0’s house. Low carbonation. Cheese, caramel, funk, and lemon in the nose. A little touch goopy. Plenty of cheese, toffee, and oak. If it had carbonation, it’d be higher. Pretty good but not amazing.

Bottle shared in Bermondsey during Sour Night. Big thanks to Daniel! Pours clear gold with a small, foamy white head. Some citric notes in the nose. Lightly sweet, moderately grassy, some aged lemon, damp wood, hay. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild grassy bitterness in the close, more tangy wood, lemon, soft dry funk. Good stuff overall.

750ml bottle, 2012 bottling. Pours a still, clear orange, no head. Sour nose, potpourri and orange peel, vegetal, some decent leathery lambic funk. Flavor has orange, cheese cloth, funk, lemon, wet wood. Finishes watery. The finish really kills it. Bad bottle.
