Bottle. Orange color. Grapefruit and melon in the aroma. Firm citric hopbitter flavor. Thinnish, but characterful ale. Oily, earthy hops, citrus and melon in the aftertaste.

500ml bottle in Bier Halle. Copper colour with a good white head. Aroma is caramel and soft fruit, flavour is broadly similar, a little metallic to begin with. Not bad

Cask at the brewery, clear bronze colour, smallish creamy head, aroma of candy and cakey maltiness with a hint of light aromatic coffee, sweetish malty cakey, yeasty flavour, light bitterness. Nice,

Handpump at Luppolo Station in Rome. Copper clear pour, medium-“low compact off-white foam. Nose: pistachios, highlights of nut skin. Mouth is pretty watery, overall of roast hazelnuts, finish is a bit astringent.

Bottle (500 ml) bought at the brewery, at home in Aberfoyle. Amber color, beige small head. Very nice soft taste.

Light amber-golden with a good clarity and medium-sized, beige head showing moderate retention.
Light lemon and orange rind in the nose is in the first impression, succeeded by fresh yeast character (plentiful fruit esters, apple, strawberry, cherry) and honey-drenched specialty malts (fresh baguette, very light toast). It all comes together nicely, especially given the focus on the base malt to help smooth everything else over. Hops are American, or American-styled, but not overdone by any means and the beer is clean and shows no alcohol.
Soft, full of white bread and honey, with tons of red and yellow fruit esters and a balancing, gentle citric bitterness. Gentle carbonation and a malty but well-attenuated texture with no flaw or alcohol. Great malt and yeast profile and doesn’t get carried away with the American hops. Nothing flashy whatsoever, but enjoyable and highly drinkable.

Cask at the Euston tap. A amber orange coloured pour with a a fine off white head. Aroma is. Sweet cakey malts, Toffee, nutty, dried fruits. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, cakey, plum, raisin. Little grape and raisin. Palate is semi sweet lowish carbonation, rounded. Not bad.

500ml bottle. Amber colour with a good off-white head. Aroma is fruity malts and hops, caramel, toffee. Taste follows suit with sweet fruity malt and hop flavours, citrus, caramel, toffee. Mildly bitter finish. Smooth. One of my favourite bitters so far.
